Pollets National Karate Team to compete in the Winter Nationals
Tomorrow will see Team Pollets head to Windsor for the NSW Winter Nationals Karate tournament. More competition experience for all of our students and particularly for those who are building up to the ISKA World Cup in October 2014.
Students are heading off from each of the dojo’s including Orange, Bathurst, Penrith, Granville and Dubbo. One such competitor is Sarah Wright from Orange who is currently ranked 1st in Traditional Forms (Kata), 3rd in Koshiki (full contact fighting), 6th in Point Fighting (Kumite).
Sarah is also ranked 1st in Jiu Jitsu for kids under 13.
Sarah is one of many talented students who we hope to profile over coming months, however this will be no quick task. The talent and enthusiasm of Pollets Martial Artists means that we are continually doing well.
Also heading to Windsor from nearby Penrith are karate students, brothers Daniel, Corey and Jayden Brown. The Brown brothers are regular competitors on the Iska circuit, having not missed a tournament in the past two years.
Another standout student that will be attending is Bathurst’s Giamia Radice. Giamia is a seasoned competitor ranking 1st place in several events and dominating her age division.
Even when it’s not time to take away a win, Pollets Martial Arts students remember that “if we lose, we don’t lose the lesson”.
Good luck to all competitors tomorrow, it’s going to be a great day. Thank you to all the family and friends who support our competitors. Competitor, parent, friend or support, we are all part of Pollets National Team.
