Australian Karate Competitors Bring Back Gold from South Africa

Hanshi Ian Pollet has brought home a Gold Medal for Australia after travelling with his team to the World Goju Ryu Championships held in Stellenbosch, South Africa during 2013.

Ben Morrison, Lachlan Campbell & Ben Puxty bring home medals in the World Karate Championships

Hanshi has competed in both kata and point fighting. After winning his first 2 rounds to make it to the final was unlucky and placed 2nd.

Sensei Angelique won her first kata division but was lost her next one in a close score fantastic effort as there was 17 girls in her division she will compete today in point fighting. Linda won her first kata division but lost the second walking away with silver such a great effort.

Tanya Vella did very well walking away with bronze well done hard work paying off.

Everyone else that competed yesterday did exceptionally well but was unlucky to place which shows you what great standards they were up against. Congratulations to everyone we are very proud of you and wish you luck for today’s competition.

The team also took out the Bronze Medal in the Teams Event.
