Who we are
We aim to provide value to you in the way we approach each and every person and the
uniqueness of your goals. We encourage you to develop at your own pace and provide
ongoing support and guidance throughout your journey.
We pride ourselves on being able to offer martial arts and it’s benefits to those who
struggle with or experience:

- You will very quickly feel part of the family, in our friendly, supportive, non-intimidating atmosphere.

No matter your objective or motivation, whether it be to lose weight, feel better or just to try something new you will see results. You
will see much faster results should you attend on average 3 classes per week, however you will also see results should you only
manage 1, just a little slower.

At Pollet’s Martial Arts, we are one of the few Dojos in Australia that can offer you grades that are internationally recognised.
We don’t believe in a one size fits all approach, so we want to get to know you in order to make you feel more comfortable and offer the best possible solution.

What to expect
We start with a free introductory class, We invite you in 15-20 minutes prior to the class to introduce you to the instructors and walk you through our two-level facilities. You are given an indemnity form to fill out, parents sign for students under the age of 18.
What you need to bring
Comfortable clothes (no shoes needed)
Water bottle (drinks are available)
We can loan you equipment for your trial class, however you are welcome to bring any equipment you already have.

How we Help
1. Help improve your confidence:
Martial Arts techniques themselves will inspire your confidence and further motivate you to
regularly attend classes. The physical training combined with the improvements in your mental
stability helps build confidence and will improve your self-image.
2. Regain your motivation in your current sport or training program
The techniques and syllabus taught at Pollet’s is engaging and fun. It’s hard to become bored with one of our martial arts disciplines as the techniques and content is constantly evolving as your skill level improves.
With six various disciplines under the one roof you are spoilt for choice!
You have so many opportunities under the one roof including gradings, tournaments, competitive
fighting, Master Boot Camps and Grand Master Seminars. Your opportunities are endless and can
take you all over the world!
3. Improve your fitness and physical health?
You can greatly improve the amount of muscle mass you have in your body with our action packed
martial arts disciplines.
Some of the many Muscular benefits of Martial arts include:
• Increased muscle mass- the more muscle you have, the more toned your body becomes
• The higher your muscle mass, the more calories you burn to maintain the increased muscle
• Higher levels of muscle mass lead to increased agility which helps prevent injury
A weak cardiovascular system can result in: shortness of breath, weakness, fatigue and in severe
cases – heart attack. We want to help you bulletproof your cardiovascular system!
Some of the many Cardiovascular benefits of Martial arts:
• Improvement in the cardiovascular system as martial arts is an activity that stresses the heart
• 30 minutes minimum is recommended for a good cardiovascular workout and the majority of
our classes are 1 hour with a minimum of ½ hour
Improved flexibility in the muscles, ligaments and tendons combined with greater coordination and balance helps reduces the chance of injury from falls and other accidents. This means performing routine tasks and errands becomes easier and safer as it reduces the amount of strain and exertion required when performing the task.
4. Empowering you to protect yourself?
To protect yourself you must have very fast reflexes. Research has found that by participating in martial arts, you not only improve your reflexes while performing the activity, but also experience faster reaction times during all actions in your life.
This is helpful in many day to day activities and crucial in being able to react in potentially dangerous situations.
Our syllabus content is structured with specific techniques to help protect your whole body and in endless scenarios that you may encounter.
Reflexes built up through consistent and frequent training combined with common sense and
environmental awareness learnt in martial arts is your best chance of staying safe.
5. Do you want to improve your child’s discipline, respect and build character?
Pollet’s Martial Arts Centre is a traditional karate school, delivering karate classes which focus on the psychological elements incorporated into a proper kokoro (attitude) such as perseverance, fearlessness, virtue, and leadership skills.
Our aim is to empower your child/ren to develop a strong mindset and understand we all face set
backs in our lives. By choosing to get back up again and progress forward they will become stronger and more resilient. This helps them in setting goals and having the patience while they are being achieved.
6. Does your child have Autism, Asperger’s, ADD, ADHD, depression, anxiety or high stress?
Your child can benefit immensely from the structure, focus, discipline and physical outlet that
Pollet’s Martial Arts provides. We help your child too develop improved concentration, boosted
confidence, a sense of serenity and a deep respect for themselves and others.
7. Do you have staff in you care that need to be able to better protect themselves due to the
environment they work in e.g. foster carers, paramedics and security workers? We would like this opportunity to help empower your staff and build their confidence to better manage and stay safe in adverse and potentially dangerous situations.
Your staff will be trained by highly qualified Instructors, with extensive self-defence training and coaching accreditation through the Australian Sports Commission with qualifications is 4 different martial arts disciplines.
Pollet’s head Franchiser, Hanshi Ian Pollet owned and operated his own Security Company and
Pollet’s Adamstown Head Instructor Shihan Danny Crouch has a current security license.

The Adamstown Little Tigers Program
The Little Tigers program is a specialised syllabus for 2-6 year olds. The syllabus is designed specifically to help children that may be facing bullying, confidence issues, struggling to concentrate in class, or even just to develop their overall skills. Our program is about helping your child be more focused, disciplined, alert and have a better overall attitude.

Self-Defence Classes in Adamstown
Our self-defence programs are designed to suit all levels of abilities. Our focus is to empower
you with the skills, confidence and knowledge of practical martial arts skills.
Our highly trained team of approachable professionals have designed programs that make you
feel safe and allow you to train in a secure environment.
Mixed Martial Arts Programs
All our programs are suitable for people of all levels and fitness. Our objective is to offer you the tools and support you to meet your goals. We have the best instructors for teaching you and developing your skills to match the outcome you are looking for. Whether it is weight loss or you are looking to compete, our instructors can help you achieve.
What we do
We offer instruction in six martial arts disciplines. We aim to uphold the integrity of the martial arts we offer to provide the highest quality available.
We offer our services through:
- Our timetabled classes, 35+ per week (memberships and casual attendance)
- Private instruction (one-on-one)
- Private group instruction
- Our 2 level, fully equipped facility is also open to members and casual visitors
If you would like to perfect techniques or are working towards big goals in grading, tournament or competition, private lessons are highly recommended to get you the edge.
